Watch Jamey Johnson in Color!

After witnessing Jamey Johnson at Joe’s Bar last January and having the opportunity to listen to his album, That Lonesome Song, he probably would be the last country music artist I would expect to perform a live webcast. But, lucky for us, he will perform an exclusive webcast this Thursday, March 5, at approximately 11:30 pm CST. The performance will be broadcasted live from The Stage in Nashville, Tennessee, and web visitors will have the ability to chat about his concert while he performs.
Johnson’s label-mate, Holly Williams, will open the show at 11:00 pm CST. Some technical stuff is required; please visit his website for more information.

Rascal Flatts Controversy
Chicago’s Wrigleyville residents are protesting this summer’s scheduled Rascal Flatts concert at the historic, Wrigley Field, because it may violate a city ordinance. The Chicago Sun-Times has the complete scoop on the RascalVille controversy.
Reba, here on a Mission
The Queen of Country Music, Reba McEntire, will perform on March 21, at the Northwest Suburban Sears Centre for a benefit concert. Proceeds of the concert will go to a local, high-school wrestling coach who has been diagnosed with a rare spine disease. Tickets go on sale Monday on Ticketmaster.com
Keith Urban “No Frills” Tour
Country music mega star, Keith Urban, has announced a “no-frills” acoustic tour to promote his Defying Gravity album release. Fans will probably have to be able to “deify gravity” in order to get into this show. Urban is set for Joe’s Bar, March 30. Verizon Wireless is sponsoring the tour and customers can win tickets by using their V-Cast service. US99.com has the scoop: http://us99.com/pages/3917961.php

Jason Michael Carroll in the City

Weekend Concert Alert
Jason Michael Carroll, best known for his chart topping hits, “Alyssa Lies”, and “Livin’ our Love Song” from his debut, hit album, Waitin’ in the Country, is headed to Joe’s Bar, Friday. Although Carroll’s album title track song is about getting out of the big city and into the country, we’ll bet he will bring the best of both worlds to the North Side venue.
Although some say Carroll doesn’t look like he sounds, his smooth, deep sounding voice makes for great country music. And if his slow, tear-jerkin’ love songs are your thing, check out “I Can Sleep When I’m Dead,” a fun party song that will have the crowd jumping.
Carroll has opened for acts like Brad Paisley and Neil McCoy and with his current single, “Where I’m From”, a song about growing up in the country, we’re sure this hit will bring Carroll one step closer to the big time.
On a side note, congrats to Joe’s Bar who has been nominated for the very prestigious Academy of Country Music Award for Nightclub of the Year. Their commitment to the country music industry as well as providing first-class country music entertainment in Chicago has proved them well. We wish them the very best of luck and ask to keep up the great work! Winners of the ACM Awards will be announced during the 44th Annual Awards Show on Sunday, April 5, 2009, the event will be broadcasted live on the CBS Network (WBBM local) from the MGM Grand, Las Vegas.
