Julianne Hough, Jake Owen and Zac Brown Band pick up ACM Awards.
Fan voting for the Academy of Country Music categories of Top New Female Vocalist, Top New Male Vocalist and Top New Vocal Duo or Group has selected Julianne Hough, Jake Owen and Zac Brown Band respectively as winners of their nominated categories.
According to a press statement from the Academy, the three winners are now considered nominees for the Top New Artist award, which will be given out on the 44th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards broadcast from the MGM Grand in Las Vegas Sunday, April 5, 2009 at 7:00 PM CST on the CBS Network (WBBM-TV Chicago).
Each winner will perform and receive their trophy from country music star, Sara Evans, on the “ACM Top New Artists” GAC special to air March 19 at 9pm CST.
Voting for Top New Artist takes place at www.VoteACM.com beginning March 16 and ends at 8 p.m. ET on Sunday April 5th.

In a recent press statement, The Academy of Country Music announced that country music superstars Toby Keith, Miranda Lambert, Tim McGraw, Heidi Newfield, Rascal Flatts, Sugarland and Taylor Swift will perform as part of the 44th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards, hosted by Reba McEntire. The ceremony, which honors country music’s top talent as well as the industry’s hottest emerging artists. The annual awards show will be broadcasted LIVE from MGM GRAND in Las Vegas on Sunday, April 5, 2009, at 8:00 PM ET/PT on the CBS Television Network (WBBM-TV Chicago).
