What started with a borrowed Garth Brooks Greatest Hits album in the early ’90s and listening to US99.5, Chicago’s country music radio station, has escalated into an outright obsession for country music. In order to share his love and passion with others, CountryMusicChicago.com founder Scott Winterroth created what is poised to be the premier online source for country music in Chicago. Scott’s vision for CMC is to organize Chicago’s country music scene, promote local talent and help Chicago become the premier country music destination outside the city of Nashville.

He can attribute the early success of CountryMusicChicago.com to his combined experience in journalism, public relations, marketing, web design and photography.

Scott is a life-long Chicagoland resident and currently resides in Chicago’s Lincoln Square neighborhood. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Corporate Communications and Journalism from Northern Illinois University.

Mark Gregory

Growing up a product of the 1980’s and 90’s, Mark Gregory could typically be found donning jeans and a black concert tee rocking to the likes of Metallica, Megadeth and Whitesnake. He was the furthest thing from country you would find. At the time, the country world was full of pop-crossover acts. There was no one like Cash, Waylon or Wille. As the rock world took a terrible spiral he began a quest to find music he could latch on to. Today, as popular country music artists like Jake Owen, Shooter Jennings (Son of famed Waylon Jennings) and Miranda Lambert begin to bring country music back to its roots of storytelling and rebel rousing, he knew the right choice to make.

Mark brings a unique experience to CountryMusicChicago.com. As the managing editor of the Bugle Newspaper Group by day and his experience from visiting country music venues all over the Midwest to watch and photograph shows brings both experience and passion to our team. Over the course of his career he has shot numerous shows and looks forward to adding more to his collection.
