Chicago has always been a notorious place for artists and outlaws. A city of grit and noise, set between the great lakes and the great plains. This is the kind of city of contrasts that would be home to a band like Rivals of the Peacemaker.

A group featuring musicians of various musical backgrounds, including a smattering of metal band refugees could only be properly defined as American Roots Music. And Rivals of the Peacemaker are all about their roots – loving Emmylou Harris and Motorhead in the same breath, steeping themselves in the history of their heroes, and bringing a fierce loyalty to each other and to their passion for American music.

The band blends foot stomping energy with rich textures and harmonies, driving rhythms, and a love of dirty words. Fronted by Alexandrea Watson and Tony Mojica, the two personify rowdy and romantic. Layering harmonies with guitarist Billy Watson, and alongside R.B. Green (Lead Guitar), Kyle “Pickle” Tuggle (Bass), Al Guberman (Lap Steel), and Ryan Stiegerwald (Drums) Rivals of the Peacemaker weave stories of rebels and sweethearts, heartbreaks and revenge.

Their debut album will be completed early 2011.
