The Zac Brown Band performed at the Charter One Pavilion at Northerly Island.  Country Music Chicago was in the crowd, live blogging, as Zac and his friends jammed along Chicago’s lakefront.

7:05:50 PM: Fans crowd the Charter One Pavilion and Zac Brown makes early appearance to introduce opening act.  Brown, while introducing the evening’s lineup, promises fans four-hours of non-stop music.

7:10:27 PM: Wearing a red suit, fiddle player Casey Dressen opens the show.

7:33:26 PM: Dressen closes. The sun sets on the magnificent Chicago skyline.

7:35:24 PM: The “Southern Ground” stages is equipped with a moonshine still and mason jars. Props of course.

7:36:13 PM: Zac Brown enters the stage to introduces fellow Georgian group, The Wood Brothers.

7:44:44 PM: Zac Brown joins the Wood Brothers on stage to lend a hand with a few songs.

8:12:13 PM: As the Wood Brothers finish up, fans ready for the Zac Brown Band.

8:17:57 PM: The Zac Brown Band takes the stage.

8:18:46 PM: Zac Brown said, “We have but no choice but to whip this show with a belt.”

8:30:38 PM: New album, due out in September, will feature a duet with Alan Jackson.

8:35:16 PM: The band previews a song from their forthcoming release, A duet with Jimmy Buffet called “Knee Deep”.

8:35:46 PM: Yes, It’s tropical themed.

8:51:07 PM: The group plays their first radio hit of the evening with, “Whatever It Is“.

9:34:25 PM: Over an hour into their set and they’ve only played two of their top hits.

9:34:58 PM: The Wood Brothers are back on stage with the Zac Brown Band.

10:38:02 PM: The band finally makes it to their current hit single, “Free”. Will this end the show? Not sure.

10:47:33 PM: Yes, the crowd is let free with well…”Free”.
