A “mega” festival and major country music concerts will bust the recession blues.
Like most Chicagoans, you’re probably staying home this winter. Fortunately, Chicago has a recession busting lineup of country music events.
Winterfest:Mega Winterfest at Pheasant Run, St. Charles, is just around the corner. AStar Promotions and Pheasant Run are bringing a truckload of country music stars up from Nashville to perform at this two day festival. Sources tell us tickets are going fast, get yours today on Ticketmaster.

Grammy’sThis year’s 51st annual Grammy Awards will be Sunday, February 8, 2009, on CBS (WBBM 7pm CST). Several of our favorite country music stars are up for this prestigious award and we can expect some awesome performances.
Kudos to Jamey Johnson who will be performing in Chicago at Joe’s on January 23. He has been nominated for Best Male Country Performance for In Color, Best Country Song for In Color and Best Country Album for That Lonesome Song.
James Otto, who is also playing Joe’s Bar on January 30, is up for Best Male Country Vocal Performance for Just Got Started Lovin’ You. Lady Antebellum has been nominated for “overall” Best New Artist and Best Country Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals for Love Don’t Live Here.

The Sears Centre just announced The Eagles will be soaring into Hoffman Estates on March 26, for a recently scheduled performance. Ticketmaster
Chicago Boat, RV and Outdoor Show:The 79th annual Chicago Boat, RV and Outdoor Show will set up camp at Chicago’s McCormick Place North Building on January 14. This is a wonderful event to bring the family and check out some of this year’s hottest toys for outdoor recreation. The show runs till January 17. Pat Green hits Chicago then runs to Ireland.One of Chicago’s favorite Texans, Pat Green, will have a busy couple of months. On January 27, he will release his latest album, What I’m For, and on February 20, fans will get to hear his new work live at Joe’s Bar. Green is also on tap for a trip to Ireland with US99 morning show hosts, Lisa and Ray. The US99 morning show will broadcast live from Dublin March 12 – 17.
