Country music descended on Las Vegas Sunday for the 44th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards. This year’s big winners were Carrie Underwood (Entertainer of the Year/Female Vocalist of the Year), Brad Paisley (Top Male Vocalist), Sugarland (Top Vocal Duo) and Rascal Flatts (Top Vocal Group). Rascal Flatts Unstoppable Soundcheck

Rascal Flatts released their sixth studio album properly named Unstoppable, Tuesday. The album, poised to debut as #1 on the Billboard 200 chart has already gained momentum with its debut single, “Here Comes Goodby” which is quickly moving its way up to number one spot on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart.

Set your DVR – Its Oprah Time

Country music stars Sugarland, Kenny Chesney, Carrie Underwood and Darius Rucker were in town for a special taping of the Oprah Winfrey Show on March 26. The show is set to air on Tuesday, April 14 at 9 a.m. on WLS-TV channel 7.

Jeffrey Steele & Penny Mae Dixon

Singer/Songwriter and Nashville Star judge, Jeffrey Steele, will be headed to Loves Park (Rockford) on June 19. Local group Penny Mae Dixon Band will join Steele at the Road Ranger Stadium during the Taste of Rockford. This will be a great show. Jamey Johnson

Just off his win at the ACM Awards, Jamey Johnson is scheduled to return to Chicago’s Joe’s Bar on October 3. Tickets are $17 and go on sale today at 10 a.m. on Ticketmaster.com. This will sell out, get your tickets early.
