Day one of the Chicago Country Music Festival is now behind us. We witnessed country superstars Gretchen Wilson and Clint Black rock out on the Jay Pritzker Pavilion in Chicago’s Millennium Park and discovered a ton of great up-and-coming artists in the Honky Tonk and Americana Stages. Today, Jake Owen, Love & Theft, Jewel will headline the festival and will welcome the return of the Country Music Association’s Songwriters Series featuring mega star Kix Brooks, newcomers The Band Perry, ’90 hit maker David Lee Murphy and hosted by one of Nashville’s heavy hitters when it comes to songwriting, Bob DiPiero. It appears the weather will hold out for another day and it should be another historic night on Chicago’s front yard. Follow our Live Blog to catch the highlights of Day 2. We’re using a better platform today so hopefully we won’t run into technical issues as with Day 1.
Alright, we’re getting started on Day 2. Slamabama is getting started on the Best Buy Honky Tonk stage and Scarlet Oaks is doing the same on the Americana Stage.
